The Stratford Members Redefine Active Senior Living at Annual Republic Airways Plane Pull
Members of The Stratford, a life plan retirement community in Carmel, Indiana, continue to prove that age is no limit when it comes to determination, grit, and the pursuit of happiness. For the second year in a row, Members and leadership team joined forces to participate in the 14th Annual Republic Airways Plane Pull, a popular community event supporting local children’s charities like the Riley Children’s Foundation and Indiana Wish.
Strength and Teamwork on the Tarmac
The Republic Airways Plane Pull is a unique physical challenge that tasks teams with pulling a 24-ton jet across the tarmac as quickly as possible. With cheering crowds and a shared sense of purpose, our crew successfully pulled the aircraft 15 feet in just 10 seconds, beating our time from last year!
“Being able to pull that plane 15 to 20 feet as a team really shows what can happen when people work together,” shared Member Don Pickett.
Cultivating an Active Lifestyle for Seniors
That sense of community and life engagement is a cornerstone of The Stratford’s lifestyle. Whether it’s through our daily wellness classes or the support found during social programs, we believe in fostering an environment where everyone can thrive.
“I am incredibly proud of these Members because our goal is to show that everything is about ability, not age,” said Heather Mairn. “They continue to redefine what aging looks like by participating in events like this and inspiring everyone around them.”
Commitment to the Local Community
Participating in local events is one way our Members stay connected while giving back to the greater community. Everyone is proud of the team’s performance and their commitment to supporting such impactful charities. We can’t wait to see what they accomplish next!
