At The Stratford, every Signature Experience is designed to spark curiosity, create meaningful connections, and bring a sense of adventure to everyday life. This month, our Members stepped into a storybook as we celebrated our Royals of the Realm Signature Experience. It was a day filled with medieval fun, fascinating discoveries, and a feast fit for kings and queens.
From learning the art of fencing to exploring the wonders of the ocean and enjoying a royal banquet, it was a day worthy of the crown.
A Noble Beginning at the Indy Fencing Club
Every royal adventure deserves an exciting start, and ours began with a visit to the Indy Fencing Club. Members traded their everyday routines for the traditions of noble knights as they learned about the rich history of fencing and how it evolved into the Olympic sport we know today.
Watching demonstrations, discovering the techniques behind the sport, and hearing stories about its centuries-old origins made for an engaging and educational experience. It was the perfect way to kick off a day inspired by courage, skill, and a touch of medieval magic.
A Whale-Sized Royal Surprise
Just when everyone thought the day couldn’t get any more exciting, a very special guest made a grand entrance.
Marine biologists Cynde and Bailey arrived with their famous Whalemobile, a life-sized inflatable humpback whale that immediately captured everyone’s attention. Members enjoyed an interactive presentation where they examined incredible marine artifacts, including a real whale rib and vertebra, while learning fascinating facts about humpback whales and the important role they play in our oceans.
The highlight? Brave lords and ladies were invited to step inside the whale itself. Exploring its skeleton, muscles, and internal organs gave Members a unique, hands-on opportunity to better understand these majestic creatures. Guided by expert marine educators, everyone left with a deeper appreciation for the incredible wildlife that reigns over the sea.
A Feast Fit for Royalty
After a day of adventure and discovery, it was time to celebrate in true royal fashion.
Crowns were placed upon heads, laughter filled the banquet hall, and Members gathered for a medieval-inspired feast. The menu featured warm soup served in bread bowls, hearty giant turkey legs, and Chef Laura’s famous bread pudding… a sweet ending to an unforgettable day.
Good food, great company, and plenty of smiles made this royal celebration one to remember.
