Giving more than $1 Million each year, we are committed to making a difference. In addition to providing an exceptional quality of life for our Members, The Stratford is dedicated to serving our local community and assisting others worldwide. We believe that through our giving and the programs we offer, we can help more than just our Members live a Weller Life. Below are just a few of the programs we have and organizations we support:
Living Well Foundation
Living Well Foundation is our nonprofit 501(c)(3) corporation organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes. The foundation is dedicated to fostering supportive and compassionate senior living communities by improving the circumstances that have a significant impact on the health and well-being of their residents, employees, and future employees and to supporting nursing students in local institutions of higher education. It does this by providing emergency financial assistance, scholarships and offering a first time home buyers program.
Elevate
Elevate is our scholarship program that provides our employees with further career opportunities. We provide opportunities to our employees that allow them to build on their experiences and further their education, as well as assist with the financial burden education may have put on them prior to coming to work for us. We want our employees to grow professionally and believe investing in them offers a way to excel for themselves and their families. Each year, we award more than $200,000 in scholarships to our employees.
Silver Pen Essay Contest
Silver Pen is our annual writing competition designed to help bridge the communication gap between local high school seniors and our Members. We want to ensure young adults can follow their dreams and attend college. For many, the financial burden is a barrier to further their education and we believe in removing it. Each year, we award high school seniors in our local communities more than $55,000 to continue their education.
Alzheimer’s Association
The Alzheimer’s Association is the world leader in the fight to end Alzheimer’s and all other dementia. It is evident through our nationally recognized and award-winning Reflections – memory care program, that we are committed to providing best in class care and services for people living with Alzheimer’s and other forms of dementia. However, our goal isn’t just to serve people with this terrible disease, it’s to end it. We are a proud national team of the Walk to End Alzheimer’s and commit each year to donating over $100,000 in the fight to do so.
UNTOLD
UNTOLD (formerly CARE for AIDS) is an organization in East Africa that empowers people to live a life beyond AIDS and is focused on ending the cycle of poverty, disease, and orphans. We want to help people on a global level change the trajectory of their lives and their families lives. UNTOLD works with local churches to operate life-transforming centers to do this. At each center, 80 individuals can complete a 9-month program which gives them the training, education, and support to lead full and productive lives.
Harvest Center
The Harvest Center is a community where individuals affected by homelessness, poverty and unemployment are empowered through transitional programs and transformed by the love and ministry of Jesus Christ. We believe anyone can change their life’s trajectory given the right support and environment to do so. Participants work through eight dimensions of wellness and three distinct phases to graduate and live a sustainable and independent life.
